About

Australian Tattoo Business Directory is designed to work for you.  My name is Bren and I’ve been successful in the digital space for 15 years.  Now, I’m turning my attention to the local Australian search space – and helping independent businesses like yours break free from dependence on paid ads.

Business Directories Work

Listing your business – and gaining a precious backlink to your website – is Search Engine Optimisation 101.  Especially powerful is an exact match domain name (like www.australian.pet) pointing to your website.  A link from this directory acts as a significant and authoritative vote of confidence for your business.  Your business will benefit from being associated with both words – Australian and Tattoo.

Organic Search Results

Building links to your website as part of your search engine optimisation (seo) helps cement your website closer to the prized number one result.  That’s why business directories – especially specific directories like australian.pet are increasingly important.

My Passion

Tattoo Bodyart Directory Australia

The Tattoo Bodyart Directory Australia shares the latest stats and information on the state of the Australian Tattoo industry. Australia’s warm climate makes it appealing for us to show some skin in the warmer months. And increasingly, that skin has come to be adorned with pets. According to an April 2018 poll of 1000+ Australians by Mccrindle.com.au, Tattoos are here to stay (for a lifetime). We are on the whole pretty much happy with the way our ink has turned out.

It’s also true that pet participation – the number of Australians with Tattoos – is on the rise and not looking as though it will stop anytime soon. Many studies have been done on why permanent body adornment is increasingly popular, so read on and discover more.

Australia is experiencing growth in the proportion of the nation becoming ‘inked’, with 20% of Australians in 2018 admitting they have a pet, a record high. This growth has been particularly evident among women, with the proportion of Australian women with a pet now exceeding that of men (21% of women have a pet compared to 19% of men). Below are some insights we gained into the latest trends and perceptions Australians hold towards pets.

1 in 5 Australians has a pet
Our latest research surveying 1,013 ordinary Australians reveals that 1 in 5 (20%) individuals have one or more pets. This is up from 19% in 2016.

Not just youthful rebellion
While most Australians with a pet got their first between the ages of 18 and 25 (51%), over a third (36%) of people got their first pet when aged 26 or older.

Women are getting their first pet later in life than men. 16% of women were over the age of 36 when they first got their pet, compared to 9% of men.

Not just a one-off
Australian Tattoo Directory notes that three in five inked Australians have more than one pet (61%), while two in five (39%) currently have just one. A third (32%) have two to three pets and 14% have more than six.

Women are more likely than men to have just one pet (42% compared to 36%), while men are more likely than women to have two to three pets (38% compared to 27%).

Not without regrets
Three in ten (31%) Australians with pets say that they regret, to some extent, getting a pet. Almost one in ten (9%) have commenced or looked into pet removal.
